“Between what is said and not meant, and what is meant and not said, most of love is lost.” This quote by Gibran Kahlil and many other references to less “traditional” folklore, were used by Raja, to elevate the meaning behind his music. Traditional mainstream Arabic culture and language was somewhat of a mystery to him while growing up abroad.

His move back to the Middle-East and his love for music created a unique opportunity for him to explore his roots through music, this has given Raja his unique soundscape. Melding western pop with electronic sounds, oriental beats with thematic Arabic lyrics, Raja touches on subjects such as societal pressure, fame, relationships, abuse and love, with a fresh perspective, a melodic baseline and a thumping beat.

Love music, love life

Raja started releasing music in 2009  and followed up with an English EP in 2013 called Play It Loud. This was followed by a 6 year musical hiatus when Raja moved back to Jordan, where he learnt how to speak and sing in Arabic. In 2019 Raja released singles “Dina” and “Bisharafi” along with several covers. In 2022 “Ma Fi Aman” was released to great success, which led Raja to begin his work on his upcoming EP “AL Mashour” a musical meld of modern beats with traditional sounds.

Visually, the songs are going to be released with videos, visualisers and lyric videos, with a focus on new video formats and the use of AI to generate some of the visual identity. Reflecting the time and place in which the songs were released. This is following the audio identity. Raja has always been conscious of visual trends in his social media and now this is all being reflected through this project.
